ABOUT US
Geneva Wrestling Club
Geneva, OH

GWC teaches fundamental and advanced wrestling techniques. We promote good sportsmanship (respect, integrity, fairness, etc.) and hard work that develops physical and mental toughness, good character, and a disciplined, self-controlled lifestyle.

GWC sign-ups begin the first week of October. Practices are two to four times a week at the Geneva Middle School 6-8:00 PM beginning the first week in November.
Regular season competition generally begins the first Sunday in December, and
matches are on Sunday’s rotating between host schools, where we will wrestle against one of 16 other area teams in the Buckeye league.

During the season we will compete in dual matches, dual tournaments, and optional open tournaments against other youth clubs from NE Ohio and NW PA, when our schedule permits. Travel distance is between 5 to 60 miles from Geneva.
Most of our duals will be in Ashtabula or Lake Counties.

Our post season begins in February, and includes a sectional tournament held at Madison high school and a league tournament that will be held at SPIRE.

GWC has had wrestlers qualify almost ever year for the state tournament and many have placed among the top 6 in their respective weight classes, including 2 state champions!

We also participate in OAC Sectional and District tournaments after the Buckeye league season ends.
